2019 Verdad CGM
This wine is a blend of 50% Carignan from Shinn’s Vineyard in Lodi, 25% Grenache from Creston Ridge Vineyard in Paso Robles and 25% Mourvèdre from Martian Vineyard.
The various components were fermented separately in open top fermenters and punched down twice a day. They were blended together after about 10 months aging in neutral French barrels.
This medium bodied wine has a pretty, berry aromas and flavors of berries and tart cherries framed with hard spices and herbs. It has a firm and fresh finish.
This is a fun wine meant to be enjoyed liberally and a perfect fresh red for the upcoming warmer weather. It compliments a broad array of foods including spicy Southwestern dishes and a variety of curries as well as grilled meat and poultry.
