2023 Martian Tempranillo

Alisos Canyon Made from Demeter Certified Biodynamic Grapes

93% Tempranillo, 7% Syrah

The Tempranillo was harvested on September 27 and we brought in the Syrah on October 13 after a very cool even growing season. The crop level was on the smaller side and the quality is absolutely stellar.

The grapes were fermented in open-top fermenters and punched down and pumped over each once a day. The wine was aged in 20% new Hungarian oak barrels and 15% one-year old French barrels. The barrels aged for 20 months with two rackings prior to a final racking, blending and bottling.

This wine has a beautiful purple color with hints of magenta. Spicy aromas lead into flavors of dark, ripe cherries layered with minerals, herbs and smoky notes in this complex wine.
