2015 Sawyer Lindquist Pinot Noir Magnum
The Pinot Noir grapes were harvested in perfect condition. The hot winter the weather pattern that started the year off in 2015 shifted in May and gave us a cool late spring and summer weather with coastal marine fog in the mornings throughout the growing season. This combined with reduced crop levels gave us concentrated fruit with nice balance. The grapes were 40% whole cluster fermented in open top fermenters that were punched down twice a day. After fermentation the wine was aged in onethird new, one-third one-year old and one-third two-year old Francois Fréres barrels for 18 months. This Pinot shows pretty, tart cherry aromas with savory flavors of tea, herbs & spice with hints of autumn leaves. It is a pure, multi-faceted wine.
