2021 Verdad Tempranillo

2021 was an overall cool vintage. After years of drought the influence of salt and minerals that concentrated in the soil are expressed in many of the wines produced. The grapes were harvested during the third week of September with moderate brix. The wine was aged in new and one-year old French puncheons for 16 months.

The resulting wine is medium bodied, with a pretty purple shade flecked with magenta.

This Tempranillo is an elegant expression of the grape with medium body, and a pretty purple color with touches of magenta. Aromas of sour cherries with brambly wood notes and layers of herbs and cedar overlayed with hints of baking spices come together on a long, complex finish.
