2023 Verdad Sauvignon Blanc

The grapes were harvested on September 27 after a long, cool even growing season. We had epic rainfall in the winter of 2022-2023 and the vineyards were refreshed after many years of drought.

Rusack Vineyard is located in Ballard Canyon, considered by many to be the gold standard for Sauvignon Blanc on the Central Coast. The vineyard’s soil is a gravelly clay loam. This wine was made from Clone 1, the Yquem clone of Sauvignon Blanc.

The grapes were whole cluster pressed and fermented in a stainless steel tank with minimal intervention. After a long, steady fermentation the wine was kept on the lees for six months prior to bottling.

Aromas of exotic citrus and figs and are followed by lush fig and peach flavors with hints of mandarins and white flowers and a touch of bitter almonds. The texture is round and silky and pleasing on the palate.
