2023 was a long cool growing season. Martian Vineyard is a lovingly farmed vineyard in the Alisos Canyon AVA and is Demeter Certified Biodynamic. The soils at Martian are sandy weathered sandstone and shale with traces of ‘marly’ limestone. This Albariño was harvested on September 27 with nice ripeness and great acidity.

The wine was fermented in neutral barrels and aged on the lees until bottling in July 2024. It’s always been very expressive even aging in the barrel.

The wine has pretty white floral notes with a supple texture and tastes of creamy orchard fruits, honeydew melon with notes of mandarins and meyer lemons and white stones. It’s a lovely balanced, exotic Albariño and a beautiful wine.
