2023 Two Wolves Cabernet Sauvignon

Two Wolves Vineyard is located on the border of the Happy Canyon AVA in the Los Olivos District. The grapes were harvested on October 17 after a cool, even growing season. During the winter of 2022/2023 we received a lot of intense rainfall that recharged the vineyards and water table after a prolonged drought period. The yields were small and the resulting wine has concentration and finesse.

The grapes were destemmed, cold soaked and punched down by hand twice a day. After fermentation the wine was pressed into 50% new Taransaud barrels and aged for 20 months prior to bottling.

The balanced wine exhibits classic Cabernet Sauvignon character. Ripe plums and cassis are layered with spicy notes and hints of mint, crushed flowers and cigar box and a long satisfying finish.
